The area of fitness is one in which I have no formal training but I have been into all sorts of sports and worked with some excellent trainers and coaches so over the years I’ve learnt a thing or two. I can happily say now that I know what I like and what I loathe doing in the gym, the field or in a class. However, I am aware of the importance of keeping things fresh and I’m always trying new sports, classes and changing trainers to keep things my body guessing.
This area of the blog will hopefully document progress and keep track of what works best for me so that I can refer to previous post when I feel I’m in need of motivation. Similarly, readers will be able to gain something from my experiences and we can motivate each other! 😛 Thats the plan anyways!
A major area in fitness is goal setting and any trainer will rave about the importance of having S.M.A.R.T goals and I can vouch their effectiveness to maintain motivation, measure progress and maintain a work ethic.
To quote renowned American philanthropist Elbert Hubbard:
“Many people fail in life, not for lack of ability or brains or even courage, but simply because they have never organised their energies around a goal.”
